I just posted a new video for my cover version of the old song “Come Wander With Me.” You may remember it from the episode of The Twilight Zone or you may have heard a variety of other musicians cover it. I was inspired by the Anneke Van Giersbergen version as I’m sure most people are familiar with that rendition of the song.
My version takes the acoustic guitar part, changes it up a bit, and places it on the fretless bass. I substitute the higher chord tones within the melody with harmonics, move the entire key up a few steps to fit my voice, added a piano part to keep true to the original chord structure, and added a new acoustic guitar part. I chucked in a solo as well that mimics that vocal main vocal melody. This song has vocals so it’s a nice change from all the instrumental songs I’ve been posting.
