Welcome, Readers of Bass Player Magazine

Jay Lamm in Bass Player Magazine - March 2014

Hello to everyone that might’ve surfed here from Bass Player magazine.  As you may (or may not) know, I was recently chosen by Bass Player to appear in their section called “The Real World.”  So if you’ve ventured here today then here are some things this site has to offer:  On this site you’ll not only find updates on my musical projects, tour diary things, and helpful advice on music, but also some video tutorials and handy little bass how-to-dos.  After the jump you’ll find some helpful links to such videos as “how to make your own bass ramp” and “how to make your own guitar counterweight.”

I try to cover a lot of ground here.  I also try to post something new every Tuesday.  Aside from my postings about music and lessons you can find reviews and other unrelated articles posted on the left-hand side.  It’s my “side blog.”  This side blog covers lots of book reviews, musings and commentary on life issues, and occasionally some movie stuff.  Over on the right hand side you’ll find all the social media stuff.  That way if you want us to follow each other on Twitter and Instagram (and all that stuff) you can connect with me that way.

Of course, my main blog down the center of the page deals with music.  Not just bass player stuff but helpful hints that any musician can use.  I’ll soon be covering topics like, “how to book your own gigs,” and “how to organize your project when writing music for a movie.”  Things like that will pop up occasionally.

There’s some practical lessons, some philosophical stuff, some funny stories – hopefully you’ll find enough to keep you occupied when you want to kill time at work or on your phone in your bathroom.

I’ve already covered some neat stuff with video as well.  Two of my most popular blogs have been:
“How To Make Your Own Bass Ramp”

And “How To Make Your Own Guitar Counterweight”

I’ve got a shop with all my albums and t-shirts as well.  Don’t forget that I’ve got plenty of videos to check out in the Audio/Video section. I hope you’ll give it a listen and a view to see what I’m about.

There’s a lot of writings on this page I’m proud of so I hope you get a chance to stick around for a while and read what I have to say.  If you like what’s going on and want to stay up-to-date then you can always subscribe to my blog with the link over here on the right.

See ya,

J
